SPEAKER_05So your limp is caused by your your hip, not your leg.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no. The limp is from my my back injury from many, many, many years ago. Or your sciatica. My sataka, right. Because that crushed a nerve that feeds my right ankle. And as the end result, my right ankle doesn't work. How about uncrushing it? Uh that would require some sort of weird surgery, and I refuse to have uh any uh surgery on my back. Okay, I get it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that's that's that's a heavy surgery because uh uh my friend Big Jimmy uh years ago, uh he had a get uh like a similar back uh operation, yeah, and he turned it down because he says that would probably lay you up anywheres from eight to ten months. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, you know what? Anyone that I've ever talked to who told me, or anybody who said, well, I had back surgery, and they would tell me, and I'm not any better. I'm like, what the fuck? Why'd you do it? Like but like my neighbor across the street. He had back surgery. I said, How's your back? He says it still hurts.
SPEAKER_05So in other words, it was all for nothing. Right.
SPEAKER_02So mom had back surgery and it didn't do anything for her.
SPEAKER_06Well, mom had two hip replacements.
SPEAKER_02Just why I know that, yeah.
SPEAKER_04And he replaced any replacements. That's why it bionic.
SPEAKER_02That's why we can't that's why he called her nanobot.

SPEAKER_06It's still hot. It's going. Don't know where the it got real hot up here again. It turned into July. Fucking 83 degrees right now, and it's eight o'clock. How many humidity is through the roof?
SPEAKER_02It's eighty-three?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And it's oh, it's eight o'clock. Oh, yeah. It's it's it's been steam. You know what? Uh the past couple days.
SPEAKER_05It's eighty-three here.
SPEAKER_0281% humidity. 81. Okay. So the past couple days, not counting today, past couple days down here um along the North Carolina coast, uh, the temperatures have been in the 90s, right? But it's been nineties with very low humidity. So we we have had heat, not humidity. We have had heat.
SPEAKER_05And yeah, don't tell me heat is different than baking heat. It's baking heat. All right. You want to go in the oven or you want to get sweated? That's what you want to do.
SPEAKER_02But yeah. And I'm I'm you guys are riding, right? Of course you are.

SPEAKER_00Of course. Justin's. I did get a chance to do a little bit of riding finally. Oh, justin road.
SPEAKER_05Wow. Do you ride to work in or at all or no?
SPEAKER_00Nah, I have too much crap that I gotta lug around me, but uh plus that's no fun. Well, if you see more riding you do, I guess, but like you're going to Carney, right? Is that where it is? No, I'm all over the place now, but uh I uh I uh what do you call it? Uh took a nice ride out to well, did the miracle run, so that was like a nice scenic route uh down into like South Jersey and like some of the farms and stuff down there, and that was cool, and then uh took a nice little ride out to Lake Opatong. What's what's the miracle run?
SPEAKER_02What's the miracle run?
SPEAKER_00Uh it's a ride through the Elks, uh raises money for the U.S.
SPEAKER_06They do it, they do it every year. I don't know what it is a million years. We've talked about it before. Yeah, we have to say I don't know what it is, though. We've actually talked about it on this podcast.
SPEAKER_04What is it for?
SPEAKER_00Raises money for uh special needs kids. Okay. Camp Moore is an Elks uh camp that basically allows children with special needs to be able to go there for free, funded by the Elks. And it basically gives it's there's lots of specialized stuff there to allow to be able to cater to whatever their needs are.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_00Uh it gives them the chance to kind of have that summer camp to go to, uh, and it gives the the parents a chance to you know do their thing as well, you know what I mean? Give give them you know their some some time to themselves and whatnot. Uh and it's and it's fully funded by the house, so it doesn't cost the families a dime. Nice. And uh one of the ways, there's many ways that that's funded, but one of the ways that that's funded is uh through the miracle run.
SPEAKER_02And how many miles did you do for that?
SPEAKER_00Well, I figured you were gonna ask me that question, and so I was like, you know what, I should pay attention to this, and then guess what I didn't do? But uh it was it was about a two and a half hour scenic ride.
SPEAKER_04Oh, there you go. That's nice.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, it was it was a decent ride, and then you know, we we hit a couple different places on the way back, so it was a long day.
SPEAKER_02Good, cool. Excellent. Did uh Danielle go with you? No. No, okay, cool. Yeah, there you go. That's cool. I uh kind of know Chris has been riding and he's doing that wonderful back and forth to work thing, which is understanding a load of fun. And uh I actually rode today for the first time in about a month. Uh I did a just a little, I just didn't, you know, it's one of those things where you just feel the need to, I just gotta get on a bike and go for a ride. And I just did a little 25-mile little scoot just to get the cobwebs out and all that poo. You know, you know how it goes. Uh but anyway, we got some cool things. Uh I've had a couple interviews since we were together last. I spoke with our good friend Dave Ackerman from Tobacco Motorware, and we talked about uh Sturgis this year, 2026 Sturgis and how it was for him. I'm sure you guys maybe have seen the reports. Everybody was uh bitching about how uh the attendance was low and it was horrible and nobody was there, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And he said it wasn't what everybody thinks it was. It was uh he says he was busy, he was making money, and the crowds are great. He thought it was good. He said the riding was fantastic. He said there was a couple crappy days of rain and whatnot, but but uh uh overall it was great. He got out there. So uh that was pretty cool. And we're gonna we're gonna get into that a little bit more. Um somebody was gonna say something on it. And I spoke with uh James author, James McBride, and we talked about his uh book called um Around the World and Forty Motorcycles. Uh it was uh pretty cool. And I'm gonna that's that's the name of the book, Around the World with 40 motorcycles. He is a pilot. He flew private jets and what he did was everywhere he went uh around the world, you know, everywhere he went, he used he rode a motorcycle everywhere. So uh this particular picture on the cover is of his book shows him uh he was in uh India and he was riding a royal hem uh uh royal enfield through the Himalayas. He was having some fun.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it this comes up a lot. Every time I see people that do stuff like this, yeah. I know I I ask it a million times. What the fuck do these people do that they have this much? What do they do that they have this much fucking time to professionally ride a motorcycle? Because I I want to know how to do that.
SPEAKER_00It's funny you say that because I I have this conversation, even if it's like internally all the time, even without other like it doesn't even have to just be with like people that like ride motorcycles. If you ever see people uh or like you have friends of yours, and like one of them works like part-time at like fucking Dairy Queen, the other one, the other one is like studies butterflies, and they have like four kids and they're like, Oh, we're going on our fourth vacation of the year. I'm like, dude, I can't afford to eat. How are you guys doing this on the money? Like, I don't understand.
SPEAKER_04I don't I don't know, dude.
SPEAKER_00Where do these it's it's it's like is everybody just getting these like decks that come in the middle that I'm not like pretty good? Like, what can you live here?
SPEAKER_06Because I'm I want to know like how how the fuck how is it possible? I'm living paycheck to paycheck over here and he's motherfucking crazy, right? You know, like Jesus Christ. It's like holy cow. It's like what do I not know? Yeah, I took I took four months off and drove a clerk to the United States. How the fuck do you do that?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, hey, exactly. Dude, look, I went to Sturgis twice twice. I'm still paying for 2023, right? I'm still paying for that motherfucker. And you know what? And I got, you know, I got like no money. So I don't know. You're right. I I don't know how they do it, but I they're fucking amazing.
SPEAKER_06You gotta bring this up when you have a conversation with these fucking people.
SPEAKER_02You know, how do you do this, dude?
SPEAKER_06Just say you're gonna do an out of the box question and go, what the fuck do you do for a living?
SPEAKER_02You know, uh, I have asked people, you know, in the past, you know, oh, how do you afford this? Uh but I ask it offline because I don't want every people, you know, that's like a. What do they say? And they say, well, you know, you just make sacrifices. You say, I'm not gonna do this, I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna go eat out, I'm not gonna whatever. Sacrifices. And, you know, and you just uh this is what I'm gonna do. And you they take X amount of dollars, they just put it away, and then they use that, they don't touch it, and then they when they save up enough of the needed, they go ahead and do it.
SPEAKER_06Bullshit. Bullshit. I call I call bullshit on that.
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_06Motherfucking it would take off at work for a year. I couldn't even think of taking off work for a year.
SPEAKER_02No, yeah, you're right. You know, some people do have some people do have jobs where you know they they can they accume look, Tim. Hey, he worked for the post office and he had like he'd had like eight years of vacation time available because he didn't go do anything. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_05I had five weeks of vacation time. Five weeks, right? So five weeks. Five weeks every year. But I used them all year because I didn't want to be at work. But if you didn't, you could carry that over. Yeah, well, you can carry over ten weeks. Right. So which Diane did, she got ten weeks. So, and then when we retired, she got ten weeks of pay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, imagine that. See, you know, and again, there you go. You know, but I don't know.
SPEAKER_05But you gotta remember these hedge fund guys are making tons of money.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, yeah. Well, he is uh this guy, he's a well that's the other thing. It's like you you do have to remember that there's like a difference between what I would say is the average person and like obviously everybody makes a different amount, but like I would say within like a certain window of money, it might as well all be the same amount, yeah, right?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then you have these other people that are just on an entirely different financial level. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. You know, like you know, you look at every once in a while, I'm sure you've done it because everybody does it. It's like you you look at like one of these houses that's like you know, fucking nine million dollars and thirteen million dollars. And like when when you click on it, and it's like, oh, it's like the mortgage is like thirty-six thousand dollars a month. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_06I just did that in the house in uh uh of far north jersey. It there's a house up there for six million dollars on this beautiful piece of land, and and I was like, what the fuck? I was like, holy shit, and you're right, yeah. The rent the the rent, listen to me, the mortgage was like something like twenty-seven thousand dollars a month.
SPEAKER_00Like it's like you know holy shit, and that's before you spend a dime on anything else, yeah. Like you don't even have a bottle of ketchup in the house for that money, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So it's like you figure, and if you have a twenty-seven thousand dollar a month mortgage, like you're not buying the cheap anything, probably. So you figure the amount of money that you gotta make to make that affordable when you consider, like, say the average person is you know, what twenty seven hundred dollars instead of twenty-seven thousand dollars, you know what I mean? Like, so if we're if if you're like, okay, we're making fucking you know, a hundred grand, they're making a million, you know what I mean? It's like the same thing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, plus, you know, you have to figure in the freaking taxes that they're paying.
SPEAKER_06Well, let's just say if if you're a hundred grand a year, yeah, if your mortgage is say twenty-seven thousand dollars a month, that's three hundred and twenty-four thousand a year. Yeah. Then then you bought the house for six million dollars. You gotta at least be making twenty million dollars a year to afford all of that.
SPEAKER_02Now the question is, if uh as obviously That's fucking retarded. Well, let's ask this question. I again again, this is the Motorcycle Finance podcast. So if you're if if you're in a position where you could afford a home like that, would it make better sense to just buy the house outright for six million dollars and be done with it?
SPEAKER_00Probably not, because you can't write it off.
SPEAKER_02You can write off the taxes that you're paying on it.
SPEAKER_00Those guys, those guys have to uh I get they get they got finance managers that handle. They gotta get so creative with their money, otherwise they'd get even more fucked than they're probably already getting on taxes.
SPEAKER_07Yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So, like, I know like there's a guy who makes even what I would consider normal money compared to what we're talking about, and he was getting ready to pay off his like pay off his mortgage, and his financial guy was like, don't do it. He was like, You're gonna lose. He basically showed him like what he would have lost in what he can write off. He was like, it would save you more to just keep paying like the minimum payments in your mortgage, it will be more financially beneficial to you than it would be.
SPEAKER_05You know, that's almost that's not what you're doing. But you're looking at then, not long term, because you're paying like twice the amount of the mortgage at the end of the mortgage. When you get to that 30 years or whatever your mortgage is, you're paying almost a double.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're paying in the beginning, you're paying nothing towards it, and then you get the pinpoint, right?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so that makes that makes it makes you think that i if you had the money, just buy the fucking thing outright. So you you're not doing it.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you can do whatever you want, right? You got money like that, you don't give a fuck. Exactly, yeah. When you'd rather I'd rather own things than not the big thing, about can I afford this? You're just gonna be able to do that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, what Tim what Tim just said, I'd rather own things than not the bank. The bank owns owns it until you pay it off.
SPEAKER_02Right, exactly. In fact, you know, when you not to get too political, but you know, you really don't own anything because if you don't pay your taxes, you lose it. So but then it comes down to that thing, you know, if you buy a TV, you pay the taxes in the store and then you take it home. You don't continue paying taxes on your TV. So why we continue paying taxes on our house after we've paid for it, right?
SPEAKER_06Taxation is theft anyway. So yeah, we get into that.
SPEAKER_02But anyway, so yeah, I had this nice talk with uh with Captain James McGraw. Squirrel Squirrel! And uh well, we talked about it. Hey, great guy, and we talked for a good hour and a half, man. So he actually at one point he was he had Snoop Dogg on one of his plays, one of his flights. He was flying ahead, and we have to click because he was telling us we had to head to go pick up the client, and then they picked up the client, and who's the client? He didn't know, and the guy says it's Snoop Dogg, and he went, Who knows but he actually met the guy and Snoop was really nice to him and invited him to another party they were having and all that, so it's pretty cool. Pretty cool stuff. And uh yeah, that's pretty interesting. I thought it was pretty cool, and uh what else? So, yeah, so that's what's that's what's going on with that. Uh we can get into some oh so the motorcycle podcasters challenge is done. Whoa, it's finished after two months. The entire crew of people who are out there riding and collecting roadside oddities and taking pictures of that. It was it slowed down the last week was dead, man. I think I got like 15 submissions the last week. That was it. But previous weeks I was getting hammered. Every every weekend, at the end of every weekend, I would have between a hundred and two hundred submissions throughout the course of a weekend. But uh all the all of the participants gathered more than fourteen hundred roadside oddities for the two months. Fourteen hundred.
SPEAKER_05And who's the big winner?
SPEAKER_02Uh so the the team that won was uh team number one, actually. And with with how many? There were six people on the team. Uh that was the Loud Asphalt Pipe Chasers. That was the n that which is a combination between the asphalt chasers and loud pipes podcast. They combined and formed one team. They won with over 800 points. The second place team had just over three hundred points. So these guys they kicked ass. They were majority of their the people were from North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and I think one of their guys was Texas as well. Uh the second place team, uh, they had right around right around 300 points. Um yeah, it was right around 300 points. Um most of those guys were from California. Now, California was the state that produced the most uh collection of uh roadside oddities for the challenge. That was the that was the number that was the number one. Texas and Wisconsin were the second and third highest collection of uh roadside oddities. The solo rider, his name was Mark Vanderpal. Uh I believe he was from yeah, he was from Wisconsin. He he was, I tell you, was between him and uh the second place rider, there was only five points separating the two of them. Yeah, and it was it was really, really great competition between uh the solo riders, but they did a great job. Um but yeah, like I said, they people were saying that they went and saw things that they never knew existed. They went to places that they never would have been before, and a lot of them said the same thing. I've been on this road a thousand gazillion times and I never saw that. So that's uh that that's what they that's what the challenge was all about, people getting out there and doing it. Uh the number one complaint I think was the heat. That was that was the big thing because it was a lot of guys were, you know, of course in Texas, Southern California, and of course, you know, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and of course down here. So there were people were complaining about the heat a little bit. But hey, everybody sucked it up and got out there. Uh there was uh I I I I introduced a which I probably shouldn't have. It's my fault. I I introduced a little challenge for everybody, uh, and that was to uh at the halfway point, I said to everybody, okay, go out and give me a photograph of a welcome to state sign. Doesn't matter how many you get, I don't care if whatever, just give me it has to be a different one. You can't take the same sign over and over again. Well, that worked out pretty damn good. And those were bonus points, and every I got a lot of those, but there was a little bit of a contention of what Signifies a you know a state line sign. Also it's gotta say welcome to whatever. Uh so it there was a little bit of you know well.
SPEAKER_05How is that well that that's not that's not confusing? No. Every place we go, it says welcome to. Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_02Uh there are some signs that don't say welcome to, it just says Georgia state line. That's not a welcome to sign. And I specifically said it's got to say welcome to. And then the other part of that challenge was take a picture of.
SPEAKER_00That is a little confusing though.
SPEAKER_02No, not really. No, it's not. Welcome to. Welcome to whatever state. That was it. And and there was some confusion there. But also, the other thing that I a challenge I had, I said, take a picture of you with your rider card number eating an ice cream cone. How hard is that, right? Well, and then I get a couple people come uh a few people said, Well, I'm lactose intolerant. I can't have I can't have ice cream. I said, All right, how about a pretzel? Eat a pretzel or an ice cream cone. Now, you would think that if if you said to somebody, well, uh if you're when you're out riding, take a picture, get a pat get a pretzel, take a picture of it, and then, you know, move on. You know, whatever. Okay. I had some people actually buy one pretzel and then drive around with it, taking pictures of that one pretzel for days. Why?
SPEAKER_04For the points. And I was like, I said, no, no, no, no, no, no. You get one point. One point. You know, that's it. It's just one point. But no.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but you didn't say that. I'm like, I I have to really imply it's implied. No, but no.
SPEAKER_03So, yeah, some people misunderstood or took it the wrong way.
SPEAKER_02One picture. One picture of you eating. You know, I said you can I should have said one a day. But I didn't say one a day. I just said, you know, you eating a pretzel. But they weren't eating a pretzel, they were just holding a pretzel. A couple people did it, you know, but it's fine. It's all right. It was just my fault for not being more specific. So I didn't think I had to be.
SPEAKER_04That'll learn you. That'll learn me. Never doing that again.
SPEAKER_02So anyway, so yeah, that's done. And uh, so we're gonna move on. So we're probably gonna we're gonna do we're gonna do it in the next year. We're gonna do it again next year, and it's just we'll probably what if you did it later in the year, like more.
SPEAKER_05Right.
SPEAKER_02I'm thinking, I'm thinking September or October.
SPEAKER_05Or yeah, September or October.
SPEAKER_02September or October. And probably not do a two-month thing, just make it one month. Uh, that seems to be a little better for everybody, I guess. I don't know. Well, we'll see.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, make it like at the end of September, this way the the weather's still kind of good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, exactly. You know, this way people can still get out there and have fun and all that. But uh, and you know, because it I think you know the heat was making everybody crazy. But anyway, um uh somebody's got a birthday coming up in a couple days. Oh no. All right, Chris. Chris is having a birthday, so I want everybody to send Chris five dollars.

SPEAKER_06You know, they said we were supposed to get thunderstorms today, and then today turned out to be nice, and then now uh now it seems like it changed a little bit because when I was just at the store, it was real fucking gray and nasty looking out.
SPEAKER_00It's kind of been like raining on and off for the last like fucking week.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it has. Yeah. And today I thought they, you know, they said they were gonna have thunderstorms today, and today turned out to be really nice. Really? Uh hot is shit, but hot shit. And now we're supposed to get uh thunderstorms again in a couple hours. Weather says.

SPEAKER_06That blows tonight, yeah. Tonight, but then tomorrow's supposed to be beautiful out. Saturday beautiful, Sunday, and Labor Day beautiful. Oh yeah, wow. Supposed to be a perfect uh Labor Day weekend.

SPEAKER_06And it's uh 20 after eight. And what's the humidity uh here? Humidity is uh 90%. Oh shit, man, that's crazy.

Uh now this happened a few weeks back, and so we're a little late to the party, but I thought we'd bring it up anyway, because it's a good thing to talk about, because we like talking about Harley Davidson's, to the uh dismay of many. But uh Harley Davidson has released a new motorcycle called The Deadwood. And I have to assume that the cam it comes from the uh obviously, because of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, it comes from uh you know Deadwood. So there you have it. And it's uh it's a pretty cool it's got a fat boy-ish kind of a look to it, does it not?

SPEAKER_02It's a nice looking bike. And uh this they they did have it at Sturgis to look at.
SPEAKER_06I don't know if it was there to ride, but they did have it available took them long enough to learn how to make classic bikes again and losing the idea of making a stupid fucking electric bike. Yeah, your biggest underseller ever in history.
SPEAKER_02But it's I think it's I I think it's a great looking bike. It comes with the Milwaukee 8, it comes with Milwaukee 8 117. Uh it's got the round intake thing, it's got the five-inch gauge, ride modes, rider safety enhancements, uh, black denim paint with the orange tank graphics. It's got the smoke chopped windshield, black tubeless laced wheels, uh hundred and twenty foot pounds of torque, 47 miles per gallon, 25.5 inch seat height, laden, sitting on it, 25.5.
SPEAKER_0698 horsepower. That's pretty good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's pretty that's that's a low seat height, man. So if you're a little bit of a shorty, there you go. That's the way it should be. It should be. And uh starting at 1799, so $18,000 a month.

SPEAKER_02So they say as low as $278 per month. That's I mean, how does pricing detail?
SPEAKER_05It's all in how much you put down to it.

So you can't you can't have the you you basically the only thing that's gonna be a constant is the cost of the bike itself. Yeah. Right, right.

SPEAKER_00Hey, so let's go into cost more to get it to California than it's gonna be to get it to Jersey.
SPEAKER_02So we're so we've gone into the build and price section of the of the uh of the website, and we've got the Deadwood up, and we're going to add as many amenities to this as we can to see what we can get the price at. So right now we're at $17,999 right off the showroom floor with nothing added. So now we're gonna add get a grip hand grips black. And these are $114 each. So we did that. And the engine guard, we're gonna add the engine guard, which is $324. There we go. I actually kind of like that with the engine guard on there. Uh, we're gonna add also in the performance section, now we're gonna add the SC Olin's rear suspension, which adds $1,149.95. So we'll say $1,150. So we're gonna add that. There we go. And that, okay, now we're gonna add the Vortex Extreme air cleaner, which adds, and I don't understand this, but it adds almost $1,000, $990.90 for an air cleaner. That's absurd. That's absurd. So there you go. Uh we're gonna add the heavy breather air cleaner, which adds $1,074.90. Oh, but I have to remove the Vortex Extreme. So let's change it. Okay. And there we go. Um now we're gonna, okay, the wedge air cleaner.

SPEAKER_00Cleans the well, if you're gonna you need to bring in if you're gonna allow the exhaust to breathe better, you basically gotta bring more air in.

SPEAKER_00Well, to a degree, there's still air fuel ratio that you have to consider. So you're not just throwing an air cleaner on and walking away. You're you're also well in the days of carburetors, yeah, but basically uh what you're doing when you're doing a full exhaust, you're doing the heavy breather, you're doing the exhaust, but then you're also doing a tune to basically make those adjustments.

SPEAKER_06I should have brought up that video that I found recently because it it's taken him long enough because I constantly have had this argument with people, you know. Uh, I went to a mechanic uh last year, a couple years ago, and he was like, No, you gotta put 40 in the front, 40, you know, what it says. And I'm like, no. I because I ride my bike with 38 in the rear and 36 in the front. And now Harley even says that. They've actually been saying it for a long time, but they for some reason everybody reads the weight thing wrong. They'll say gross weight, and everybody thinks that's means the weight that you put in your bike, and it's not. If you're a solo rider, they're at now 38 rear, 36, and it's actually it fluctuates between 36 and 36 uh rear and front.
SPEAKER_05Does it matter season?
SPEAKER_06No. It's just about the air and the tires.
SPEAKER_05Well, I mean, because air expands in the summertime.
SPEAKER_06Oh, yeah, you always gotta check your air, that's all. Right, right.
SPEAKER_02Well, so there you go. We all learned something cool. Yeah, so the new Deadwood. Great looking bike. Cool beans. We like it. Cool. And uh Sturgis Rally stats. Let's talk about the Sturgis Rally stats. Are you guys ready for this? This is always fun. This is always fun. Okay, the uh uh South Dakota Department of Public Safety reports that during well, as far as it goes for let's let's first, before I do that, let's let's get into the the statistics as to how many riders showed up. Okay. Uh total vehicle count for the Sturgis rally was 448,166 vehicles over the 10-day event. Compared to last year? It's down 10% from the previous five-year average of 498,042 vehicles. So uh compared to 2025, it's down 16.5% compared to the 85th tally. The 85th anniversary of the rally had 537,459. So it's a little bit of a lower turnout, but ebb and flows. It happens, you know, the tide comes in, the tide goes out. That's the kind of a thing. Um started strong with 54,000 vehicles on Friday and 58,000 vehicles on Saturday. So it was busy the first two opening days. The lowest day was Sunday, August 16th, which was the final wrap-up day. They saw 19,655 vehicles. Uh counting method, uh the South Dakota Department of Transportation data portal. They that's how they do the counting over there. So, getting into the other statistics, the uh total, 114 total arrests for drunk for DUI. There were uh miscellaneous drug arrests, 221 arrests for drugs, felony drug arrests were 108.

They issued that this is weird, but they issued they issue warnings and they kept track of it. So they issued 4,572 warnings. So they they warned people not to be an asshole, or they'll go into the or they'll go into the asshole box. What's that?

SPEAKER_00They can charge you with sales. They don't have to catch you selling. They can charge you with sales because over a certain amount they say this is more than just you using for itself. You have this for sales. And then once they charge you with sales, any money that you have on you, they basically take as evidence of sales. Oh, I see what you're saying. I guess and that money's that money's fucking gone. Distribution. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Is it is it alarming that he knows these things? How much money have you had?
SPEAKER_00All I'll say is I've gotten some warnings too. Okay.
SPEAKER_02All right. Speaking of seizures, they didn't seize any vehicles. They didn't arrest anybody for drug possession. They didn't uh I don't know for serial number. I don't know what they mean. I guess improper serial number on the car, but non-injury accidents. There were 31. They had injury accidents, accidents that involved having an injury. There were 39. Now I think that's pretty low. When you think about how many people were involved here, there's you know 39 injuries. Fatal accidents, there were three. So they and they had three fatalities. That's the same. Last year they had four. So it's it's down. So the numbers were down from last year, which is well, almost all of them.
SPEAKER_05Now, when when they say there's uh an accident, did it happen in the area of, or did somebody go on a ride someplace and go off a cliff or something? You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02No, this is in general, the entire rally, because they do give statistics for Sturgis and Rapid City. So and that and that encompasses an entire area. Does this include anything that may have happened out in let's say uh Deadwood or in Hill City or uh you know any any of the any of the roads out there in Custer State Park? Don't know. I'm gonna assume yes. Because it's all over the place. I imagine that they get the reports. So but there, that's the stats. That's the stats for Sturgis for this year. Uh while the 86th annual Sturgis Rally concluded on Sunday, the 16th, the South Dakota Department of Public Safety released highway data comparing the rallies crime statistics of 2025 and 2026, and many of the statistics were nearly equivalent from last year. So, and there's some some decreases. So it's good. Well, so it's uh not too bad, right? Uh sounds like it. Yeah, see here's an example. Uh on Saturday on uh 6 41 a.m. Saturday, interstate 90, Mile Market 75. A 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle trike operated by a six nine-year-old male was driving eastbound on I-90 near mile market seventy-five. In the rain, the driver lost control and struck a cable guardrail. The driver became separated from the motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet and sustained serious non-life threatening injuries, and he was transported to the health center in Rapid City. So you guess you don't have to go too fast if you're gonna be on riding in rain, you know, and on a slippery side.

SPEAKER_06I think they were doing sales because apparently the the V Rod did not sell well for them.
SPEAKER_02It didn't. It didn't work.
SPEAKER_06And just like the uh, you know what else was on? The electric bike was on the list too because uh they didn't sell shit, dude. I think I think in a video I watched they they sold 1200.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's why they I think that's one of the reasons why they split it off and made it its own company because they didn't want that to be like a a scar on their I guess on their record. But anyway, the V Rod was probably the most obvious candidate for a second life introduced in 2002. It abandoned Harley's traditional air-cooled formula for a liquid-cooled 1131cc Revolution V-twin developed with Porsche. The result was a Harley that revved higher, made more power, and looked radically different from the company's established cruisers. Harley eventually discontinued the V-Rood after the 2017 model year, but its based idea seems relevant still. The company wanted younger and more performance-minded riders, and the V-Rod was one of its boldest attempts to reach them. You know what? There is a V-ROD culture out there that is crazy.
SPEAKER_05There is even about everything, really.
SPEAKER_06You know what's but I mean, I'm not gonna shit on because the V Red is kind of cool looking. I I, you know, I don't know if I would if I had the extra money to buy one, I would just buy another petlight.
SPEAKER_02You know, it's interesting. There is an e there is even a V Rod rally held each year in Michigan. Who knew, right? It is uh evidently enough people for a rally. Yeah, apparently. Next, the XR twelve hundred.
SPEAKER_06That is ugly shit. Yeah, I think so. Do you think that's good looking?
SPEAKER_02I think that is a cool ass bike. The XR twelve hundred took inspiration from Harley's flat track racing heritage and turned it into a street motorcycle based on the Sportster platform. It features a more powerful version of the Evolution V twin, upgraded suspension and chassis designed for considerably more aggressive riding than the typical Sportster. It never became a major seller in the U.S. and Harley eventually dropped it. That's unfortunate because the XR twelve hundred has a personality that modern Harley models rarely replicate. And interesting thing enough is that over in Europe, especially the UK, these bikes are really sought after. I don't know. It came in three or four colors. It came in black, white, orange, and this matte black color. So I've seen them all. Um I think I like the orange one of all of them. But these things pull in some good money, man. Let me tell you something. And Justin, you can you can probably back me up on this. You can these things are going for still around nine grand.

SPEAKER_02Yeah. The FXDR for $114. Uh, this was a cool bike. I don't know. Um it kind of made I don't know about you guys, but I can't. Is that order cooled? I I believe it is. Milwaukee 8, 114. Um uh was one of the stranger members of the Harley Softtail family. It was precisely what made it interesting with its long, low stance exposed to the.
SPEAKER_06That just must be an oil cooler, Tim. That's what the gradiators looked like. I know, it's big one.
SPEAKER_02114-inch Milwaukee 8 FXDR looked more like a custom-built machine than its conventional Harley. It arrived at the time when Harley was experimenting with more aggressive designs, but its run was short. The FXDR wasn't perfect, but killing such an unconventional motorcycle eliminated one of the more distinctive bikes in the lineup. Uh, it kind of reminds me of the breakout. I don't know.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, kind of.
SPEAKER_02You know. Uh I've I've never I've never ridden this bike, but I understand it is comparable to the breakout.
SPEAKER_05Anyway. Is that is that a f- wait, go back for a second. Is that a fender in the back or is that an open tire?
SPEAKER_02It's open wheel, except for this little section right there.
SPEAKER_05It is sort of a um So you're gonna have a track on your back when you're riding in the rain or something? That's probably.

SPEAKER_02Well, I got an open tire in the back. That's all right. Next, the soft tail slim, speak of the devil. Uh soft tail slim represents a simpler interpretation of Harley's cruiser formula. It had relatively stripped-down appearance, a low seat and styling influenced by classic post-war bobbers. It wasn't over. It looks like the Deadwood, doesn't it? That's what I said before. It looks the Deadwood looks like the soft tail slim.
SPEAKER_06Uh, it had more Yeah, I mean, that's very, very similar.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Just had bigger tires, that's all.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the Slim had the lowest seat height of any Harley Davidson ever made. It was like 235 or 23.7, something like that. It was pretty low. You know. But uh, yeah, I've known several people who had these and they loved them. You know. Shame they did away with it. Uh the street rod. I disagree with this. I totally disagree with this because this is you know the Street 750.
SPEAKER_06Uh, that's as ugly as that other one's ugly. Ugly, yeah, it's ugly. It's fucking ugly. Very ugly. Doesn't look like a Harley at all.

SPEAKER_02The 48, I've ridden the 48, and man, I really liked it. I really liked it a lot. It was comfortable, it tracked really nice.
SPEAKER_06I think I test road road that's what you and I went. Yeah, I can't remember it.
SPEAKER_02Well, I just remember yeah uh I mean you're not going very far because it's only got like a 1.5 gallon gas tank. So, you know, but so what? You know, it's this is like this is a bar hopper, but you know, it's a roundtown thing. But it's a great bike, man. Uh came became known as the best modern sportster variants thanks to his peanut tank size, flat front uh fat front tire and stripped-down custom bike appearance. It was compact, relatively simple, instantly recognizable. Harley eventually ended the traditional Sportster family as part of its transition to the newer sportster platform. While the name has continued, the old 48 formula is gone, and there is a legitimate argument that Harley could have kept a version around alongside its newer motorcycles, and I couldn't agree more. Um the Sportster S and the Knightster uh they're okay. I've ridden a Knightster, I think the Knightster is pretty cool. I've ridden it, it's pretty cool. Uh Sportster S is too small for me, but it's a cool bike, you know, but still um they could easily fit the new engine inside a Iron 1200 platform. Easily. There's no question about it. So maybe that's what they're gonna do. I don't know. Maybe we'll see. Next bike, the soft tailed deuce. I don't know. What do you think?

SPEAKER_06I just uh I'm just not a fan of the the skinny front tires.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that's true. Yeah, that's what I was looking at. And then and that solid back rim throws me off.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was they introduced it in 2000 and uh they discontinued it uh in 2007. So it ran for you know seven years. And that was about it. And had the SwindCam 96 in it. Um it had a six-speed transmission at all, and then it disappeared. That was it. Next the Dynah Lowrider S. Well, all the Dynah people are screaming, you know, because they really want they wish the diners never went away. But I don't know. Whatever.
SPEAKER_05Exactly.
SPEAKER_02I'm I'm just you know, the Dyna platform, the whole entire Dynah line disappeared in 2017 when they uh revamped the entire soft tail line. So but yeah, I mean, I guess I've a lot of people like the the Dyna Lowrider S. I everything was pretty cool. The you know the low rider itself, but hey, it is what it is. And the electroglide standard. Yeah, this didn't live very long, did it, uh Justin?
SPEAKER_00No, but uh I don't I don't necessarily know why. I mean, I feel like it was a good idea.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It was just uh an electriclide standard was essentially a stripped-down version of Harley's big touring formula. It offered full-size touring chances.
SPEAKER_05It really really looks like a street glide more than anything.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, exactly. It basically, for for all for all intents and purposes, it was basically a road king with a fairing. So it had no technology in the fairing. No, right, yes.
SPEAKER_06Yes, yeah, I remember I remember seeing that at uh the dealer, that that particular one, and it was very, very plain.
SPEAKER_00Which I think for anybody who you think about the amount of guys that would spend all this money on a street glide to then rip all of that stuff out to build a custom one. Buy this. Yeah. And then customize everything. Yeah, you know what I mean? The amount of guys that would rip out the infotainment system and then put in a totally different radio. It's like, well, then why pay for the infotainment system in the first place?
SPEAKER_06Right. Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_00Buy this thing, you know, and do whatever you want to do. You're getting a bare bones bike, and then you can spend all that money on customizations, and then you don't end up as far from the cost of a street glide, but you got a custom bike.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I suppose. But hey, who knows? We don't know why they did that. And finally, the last bike that should have never been killed. The Nightrod Special, which is basically it's a V-Rod, but it's Nightrod Special. And I agree with this too because I've ridden this bike, and it was freaking cool. I've ridden both, I've ridden three different versions of the V-Rod. Uh, this was one of them. It sounded cool too. It's had this- We know you want a V-Rod.
SPEAKER_03I do. I do. I really do.
SPEAKER_00I do want a V Rod every episode. You find a way to bring up the fact that you want a V Rod. So what I've decided is that we're gonna change the name from Buy us a coffee to buy tet a V-Rod. And at the end of at the end of each episode, you can say if you want to donate to Buy Tet a V-Rod.
SPEAKER_02Is this like a GoFundMe thing gonna happen here? But I have written this and it, you know what? And I said it. It's like this thing has a cool hot rod sound to it. It's the exhaust. It sounds really badass. It sounds really cool. Uh and I love the red walls. Why can't you get red walls anytime? Right? Where can you get red walls? That's they're so freaking cool.
SPEAKER_00I can get red spray paint at fucking Home Depot. Oh, geez.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there you go. Yeah, but then you gotta do it all over all the time. Anyway, so yeah, so that's it. Ten Harley models that should have never been killed. There you go. Um, and it's I also wanted to bring up one more thing. It's autumn. Autumn is coming. Yeah, yeah. And yeah, you got the temperatures are starting to start to drop soon, I hope.

SPEAKER_02Well, you know what's great? I tell you this, we're down here in the south, and Tim, you can agree with this or disagree however you want. Uh we don't really get the autumn colors. Like everything here goes from green to on the ground really quick. You know, there's no we don't really get a fall. I mean, actually, autumn fall happens here and usually like two or three hours. And it's overnight, and it's done. You wake up and all the trees are bare.
SPEAKER_07That's just the way it works down here.
SPEAKER_02Um, and you could, but you guys up north, you get you get the colors, and that that makes for some great riding. And I know even Chris, I know you and you you too, Justin.
SPEAKER_05It's like all the leaves.
SPEAKER_02But you can, yeah, you can head out West Jersey and get into those, you know, the beautiful riding in the fall.
SPEAKER_06Very beautiful.
SPEAKER_02Some great riding out there. And it's you know, get up in Hunterdon County and uh Sussex County, where the leaves are just wonderful, beautiful up there. But there's uh nationally, there are some uh there's some ten best roads, they're saying, I guess, and it's a subjective, of course, ten best roads to ride uh for fall. And uh some of these I've heard of, some of them I have not. And I just wanted to share these with you guys and with our rush inership. There's some cool stuff.
SPEAKER_06I think I do.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, this is actually, and this comes from the Midwest. Now, this one is called Tunnel of Trees. It's in Michigan. It's ranked among the most scenic roads in the Midwest. The tunnel of trees, part of uh the highway M119, is a winding road under a canopy of large leafy trees, and in autumn the trees burst into incredible fall colors, creating a truly breathtaking view. Starting in Harbor Springs, the M119 becomes a tunnel of trees running twenty miles along the spectacular bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. With especially sharp twists at Devil's Elbow and Horseshoe Curve. Along the way, you'll be treated to unique shops, food, and learn how to learn some interesting history. So that's that's I've seen this picture before.
SPEAKER_05That road doesn't look like in good shape, though. It looks very bumpy.
SPEAKER_02It does look like it's kind of rough. But you know what? They get a lot of snow in this area, so that maybe the road's designed that way.
SPEAKER_06Maybe it's gravel because you like to find gravel stuff that yeah.
SPEAKER_02Sure.
SPEAKER_05There you go.
SPEAKER_02I've never heard of this one. This is called Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive in Wisconsin, winding through county roads from Elkhart Lake to Whitewater. It's a 120-mile drive through scenic kettle moraine. It features steep ridges, sloping hills, and beautiful lakes.
SPEAKER_06You know, when I take the back road ride that I love from here all the way up to uh Round Valley, I in so far these pictures I go on roads that look identical to these.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_06See, all of these pictures are they're all put on these pictures, each one of these pictures, this is so-and-so New Jersey, and nobody would know anything.
SPEAKER_02So all of these pictures are from actually from New Jersey. They just gave them different locations.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I wouldn't surprise.
SPEAKER_02So this one's this one here is out west.
SPEAKER_06It doesn't look like it's in Jersey.

SPEAKER_06This is uh that's where the disconnect is, yeah. That's that's the Watchog Mountains.
SPEAKER_05This is uh No, where did we go that one time? We went up in the mountains up in uh by New York State.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that was uh the hawk's nest. Yes, yes, the hawk's nest. That's that's a cool ride up there.
SPEAKER_06That was beautiful up there, Hawk. I haven't been up there since since that time. Yeah. I gotta get back up there again.
SPEAKER_02That's uh and that's where we stopped at that little restaurant uh up there before we hit the hawk's nest.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it was right by uh shades of death road.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes, yes. And we did um uh High Point. Went to the Yeah, High Point.
SPEAKER_06High Point was really cool. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh this this picture here is showing us Beartooth Highway in southwest Montana and northwest Wyoming. Glacier laden peaks, alpine plateaus, lakes, waterfalls, expansive forests combined to create a spectacular 68-mile ride through southwest Montana and Northwest Wyoming. That's like a pretty cool place. Uh you're twisting and turning around at 10,974 feet above sea level. So you'll if you or exert if you exert yourself at all, you're out of breath. So no walking, no running, and things like that. Uh next is Is Pacific Coast Highway, Oregon and California. Uh yeah, I suppose. I suppose. Six hundred and fifty-five miles. That's pretty nice. That's pretty cool. Uh also now we got uh the San Juan Mountain Skyway in Colorado. That must be absolutely fantastic. Two hundred and twenty-five miles through the Rocky Mountains of southwest Colorado, passing through historic mining towns, red rock canyons, lush river valleys, hot springs, majestic mountain peaks which are over 14,000 feet. Wow. That must be nice. You know, we'll take all that, take all that vacation time and money we have and go.

SPEAKER_02I've never been. Yes, I have.
SPEAKER_00It's unbelievable.
SPEAKER_02Yes, it is. It is.
SPEAKER_00Pictures do not yeah, Western. Pictures do not do it justice because when I was there, I was like trying to take pictures of stuff that I was just like absolutely in awe of. And then I go back and I look at the pictures, and it looks like, Jesus Christ, it doesn't even hold a candle to what it looks like in real life.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it looks it looks very one-dimensional when you look at it in a photograph.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but it is unfucking believable.
SPEAKER_02Oh, absolutely, dude. Yeah, western Colorado and into eastern Utah. Well, all of Utah, I gotta say. Uh, it's absolutely spectacular. The mountains in Colorado are just just crazy breathtaking. And if you're if you're into off-road uh riding as well, it's amazing. Absolutely amazing. But uh yeah, gorgeous there. Uh Southwest, Three Sisters, Twisted Sister in Texas. Uh I've heard guys talk about these ri this ride in Texas, and I've seen videos of guys riding this. Uh beautiful. Really, really cool. So if you're down that way, hit it. Hundred mile loop will take you through canyons, jagged hills, and open up incredible views, multiple vessels along the way. And in the southeast, of course, they got the Tale of the Dragon or Deals Gap in Tennessee and North Carolina. I have not been here yet, and people are asking me why. And I go, because you know, money that kind of a thing. But hey, 318 curves making one of America's hot spots for a few years.
SPEAKER_05And how long how long is it?
SPEAKER_02It's uh 11 miles or something like that. It's really short. Yeah. But I I've seen, you know what? I've had a uh a lot of people tell me it's like there's certain times of the day you go, certain times of the day you certain days you don't go. And obviously you don't want to go to weekends because they're crowded, but um You get a you know, you get a lot, it's not just you get a lot of people uh on in sports cars, you get a lot of people in family cars and just cruising down here, and you get a lot of people in here just don't know what the hell they're doing.
SPEAKER_05And on some how far is it from here?
SPEAKER_02It's about uh five hours, five, six hours from here. No, I take the bad, yeah, it's about six hours. I'm sorry, take about six hours.
SPEAKER_06Well, yeah. Yeah, I think how far is Tennessee from me? It's uh twelve hours? No, it's gonna be longer than that. Well, I'm going uh I'm going a diagonal direction from Ugata.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, but I think it's gotta be longer than that because it takes twelve hours to get here.
SPEAKER_02Uh this is a Tennessee's below us. This is a map, this is a map, this requires a map thing. A map thing, really.
SPEAKER_05Um do with directions, Chris. On your uh Google maps. Check someplace in Tennessee and just uh see how long it would take to get there.
SPEAKER_02Uh Chris, uh, for you to go from your house to Deals Gap, Tennessee, it'll take you eleven hours and forty-five minutes.
SPEAKER_06Oh, wow. Yep. So it's that diagonal thing.
SPEAKER_02738 miles.
SPEAKER_00You're gonna be there by 9 a.m. tomorrow.
SPEAKER_06See, North Carolina, south, and then Tennessee is West.
SPEAKER_02Tennessee is the next state over for most of them to the left. To the west, I should say.
SPEAKER_06To the left. How is that l how is that less miles? I don't understand how they'd pull that one off.
SPEAKER_02What do you mean?
SPEAKER_06Well, you say 11 hours?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, 11 hours and 45 minutes.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, but they those hours that don't go by that. Yeah, well, yeah. When I looked up uh how to get to here, it's taken me 12 hours to get to you guys. I know, it said nine hours to get here when I looked it up.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's nine hours at at one o'clock in the morning with a break next speed, no traffic. With an 80 mile an hour tailwind, you know, and and you have uh you have a porta potty for a seat, so you don't have to stop.
SPEAKER_06Well, I f I figured out that, but it's just hard to do for a lot of people. But night ride night driving is the best.
SPEAKER_02Of course, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Of course. And uh there's no traffic at all. No, not at all.
SPEAKER_02And then we got Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina, and Virginia. I want to do this so bad. This looks like such a nice ride.
SPEAKER_06What's that looks beautiful?
SPEAKER_02It looks like a nice, really, really nice ride. I really want to do this.
SPEAKER_06And I've heard I've heard uh I've met a couple, I know uh Justin's probably known a couple guys that did Blue Ridge. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02469 miles. Nice. Yeah, that's what that looks like a nice road.
SPEAKER_05So where does it go from and to?
SPEAKER_02Uh well, if you decide you want to take Skyline Drive as well, which is the same type of road that starts in uh northern Virginia. Uh you could I can't remember the name of the town, but it starts in it's in northern Virginia. You can do Skyline Drive and uh the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Blue Ridge Parkway will finish you off down in uh George in Georgia. Finish you off. Finish you off, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Down in Georgia, dinner and a show, as they're right. We had to go there. Yeah, we had to go there.
SPEAKER_06That's funny. I like that dinner and a show.
SPEAKER_02And of course, we got the Pig Trail Scenic Byway in Arkansas.
SPEAKER_06Oh, and that could be Jersey. I've been down a road like that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I've never I don't have never heard of this, but running through a tunnel of beautiful foliage, Pig Trail Scenic Byway is a beautiful fall ride, zigzagging through the Ozark National Forest up into the rugged Boston Mountains. This 19-mile stretch boasts incredible scenery and exhilarating hairpin.
SPEAKER_05That reminds me of when we when we went by the Delaware water gap that one time.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_05That's what I'm thinking of.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Oh, we're not what's the name of that road we went on?
SPEAKER_05Do you guys remember? I don't know. I don't remember that, but it and then it was a weird hole we had a Yeah, dude. What the hell is the cover of that? One guy standing there. It was like a troll or something. What the hell?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that was like that. No, that that that guy lived there. And he just he just fucking making money when he was.
SPEAKER_05That's right. You're gonna pay me if you want to get on my side of the town. What the hell's the name of that?
SPEAKER_04Oh my god, see, that's gonna bother me.
SPEAKER_05Well, that's you guess because it was going into uh on the other side to Pennsylvania.

SPEAKER_02It was 80. Wait, why am I looking at? Where am I looking here? So it was that was by Route 80, I think it was Route 80, wasn't it?

SPEAKER_02It's right here. It's called Yeah, I found it. I found it. It's called River Road that we got on. We got off Route 80 just before the Delaware water gap, and then we rode this single-lane road. Old mine road. That's what it was. Old mine road. Remember? Yep. Okay. And we rode that all the way up. Man, that was creepy at some points. But yeah, that was pretty interesting. But that that's what that kind of was. That's where I ran over the snake. Oh, the truck, yeah, the snake. Remember the snake that jumped at you? I ran over the snake. That's right. Yep. Gave it a back rub. And here, skyline's on.
SPEAKER_06I told you, you gotta uh you wanted to get you animal badges. Remember the turtle you made spin out all over the place?
SPEAKER_02I didn't need it. I just spent it.
SPEAKER_06So you need you need a you need a snake patch, a turtle patch?
SPEAKER_00I don't know why, but I just get them the uh the Kettler Zoo uh patch.
SPEAKER_04The zoo patch. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You know what though? It's you know what's interesting? Twice in my life and riding, I've had a bee get into my helmet.
SPEAKER_06I got hit in the lip. Uh this is some years ago. I got uh it and it's kind of split. Yeah, bumblebee cracked me right in the bottom lip when I was riding, and it fucking split my lip open and made me look like I had herpes for like a month.
SPEAKER_02But you ride with a but you ride with a with a half helmet anyway. So I'm riding with a full face helmet, and twice a bee got into my helmet. I don't know how, but it's it's just weird. Like because I, you know, you you're riding with your face shield down and you're cruising along, and then you see a bee walk across your line of sight, and you know it's not on the outside.
SPEAKER_05Don't you have does your your glass go up or no?
SPEAKER_03It does, but still did you stop or no? Well, yeah, you pull over real quick and you open your helmet up.
SPEAKER_05If that happened to Chris and there was a spider in there, Chris would like throw the helmet out and like set the whole town on fire. Yep. But not my bike. Not my bike. No, no, no, no. Not your escape. The whole town. The whole town. The whole town, right? You have spiders here?
SPEAKER_02I got I got a story. Okay, so um, I'm riding, I I never talked to guys this. Um I'm in uh I'm on my way out to search. It's 2023. Uh it was day four. I'm riding out, I'm on uh Interstate uh I-29, headed north, and uh, it was like maybe about 10, 11 o'clock in the morning. I'm cruising along, just uh got the got my face shield down, just chilling, just riding, you know, kicking back, and I feel this weird feeling, sensationally on the top of my head. Kind of like a little pinch, kind of a thing. I'm like, what the hell is that? I thought maybe my helmet was like pinching my hair or something. So, you know, you reach up with your hand and you start moving your helmet around a little bit. And then and then I feel the pinch again. I'm like, what the hell? And I just do it again, and now I start feeling more shit. I'm like, all right, this is something's weird here. So then it's like then it's now it's now it's pinching even more, and now it's starting to hurt. So I decided I pull over off the onto the shoulder of the highway, I pull my helmet off, and a bee flies out of my helmet. Wow. Now the only thing I can think of is I I went from the hotel, I put my helmet on inside the lobby when I walked out and got on the bike and took off. The helmet, my visor closed. The only thing I can think of is I had my vent, my big vent on top of the helmet open. And I think it was just spinning my just a a quirky quirky, quirky, uh, just a quirky set bit of timing where that bee crossed my path as my helmet climbed up.
SPEAKER_05Well, it could yeah, well, it could also climb up from underneath, too.
SPEAKER_02I would think that I would I would feel that. I maybe not, I don't know. But but it but no, you could know because if you you with your long hair, you could think something's like flapping around your hair as well. Maybe, but you know what?
SPEAKER_05Like it's me and Chris don't have that problem.
SPEAKER_02But like I said, it was on the top of my head. On the top. So I'm like, uh that's the only thing I can think of is it got sucked into my vent.
SPEAKER_05Well, maybe you should stop using stop using honey uh shampoos.
SPEAKER_02Honey, honey scented shampoo, yeah. Uh the other one we got here, Skyline Drive, which I just mentioned. Uh 105-mile stretch uh in um Virginia. Going, I can't remember the name of the town, damn it. I don't know. But it's up there, and this actually comes to uh an intersection, and it Skyline Drive ends there. You cross that intersection and you're on the Blue Ridge Parkway. That's just the way it works. It's just kind of weird. And in the Northeast we have Coastal Route 1 in Maine. Uh that winds from Calais at the Canadian border past Bar Harbor and Booth Bay Harbor, and offering lighthouses, Chris. And village scenery and colors of fall. There you go.
SPEAKER_05I thought lighthouses was uh Justin's thing.
SPEAKER_00No, I think Justin. I mean, I think it's I think it's our I think it's our thing.

SPEAKER_02Yep. We did the uh we did the Seven Bridges ride, wasn't it? The uh Seven Bridges Ride. Covered Bridges ride. Right. We did that. That was a great ride. I like that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it was beautiful up there.

Yeah, I only got to sell one. But um, no, the the minimum that I could sell the book for on Amazon, that's this is them, was $17.95. That was the minimum that I could sell it for.

SPEAKER_02So they are getting a cut because from the sale of that, uh, I get they sell for $17.95. I get nine dollars.

It was just at the time that's when I ended up going back to work after being hurt, and my you know, my goal was to to be put it on your put it on your nightstand, and every night when you get in bed, get in bed a couple minutes early and just read a couple pages and then boom.
